Putting image into type - Indesign

To start of with putting an image into your text you must first write what you wish your image to be put into, for this example I went with some very basic which is just a single letter but will explain what i'm trying to achieve.

Here is my letter T spread across my page. Fonts which are serif fonts are much better to use for this than sans-serif but what you doesn't really matter completely unless you use a font which imitates such things like brush strokes.

Head over to the type drop down menu on the main tool bar along the top of Indesign, from here make your way down to "create outlines". What this will do is creat an outline around your letter as a path.
Now with this done, you're ready to place your image, to do this press cmd+D or Ctrl+D and select the image you want to use. Your result should look like this.
