Research for Booklet pages

Using this image from my earlier posts, I have chosen to go through with my plans on making my booklet off of TeamFortress 2 and will go forward with the idea’s I drew from my brainstorm. This means I will split my booklet into 4 sections;

• GunMettle
• 2015 Saxxy Awards
• Invasion
• MatchMaking

Because allocating all these topics a double page spread leaves one 2 pages to be filled, minus the front and back cover, I will create an ad which spans over the two remaining pages.

GunMettle: I will allocate a double page spread to my first topic of GunMettle, in this I will go over everything to do with the update including the contracts, explaining how they work and your rewards for completing each contract as well as the different weapon skins available.  For this part I will list every different weapon skin collection and explain the different grades of wear you can get for the weapons too. My third part of the double page spread will be based on the new community maps added into the game, listing each map and showing off a screenshot or two of the maps.

My second page of the double page spread will be entirely based on the Mann. Co trade up explaining how to trade up, the possibilities of what you could get for trading up and a further explanation of the different wears and tiers your weapon could be. I will also go out of my way to showcase and show off a lot of the different skins you can get.

Corsair Gaming Advertisement: This page will be a filler for my booklet and will feature gaming equipment from Corsair. I chose to do this because in magazines and other print products there is usually an advert between the pages, if not on the pages, as an insert within the magazine. The advert will feature a lot of different pictures, showing the viewer how good and nice the equipment looks and write up details about how it works and to persuade the reader in wanting to buy the product.

2015 Saxxy Awards: An overview of the categories for this year’s event with a short description of each category, for example, best overall and best action. I also intend to teach others who view the booklet on 3-point lighting and how to render your images in better quality and a little bit on animation, rigging and moving sequences.

Aside from all this, my last part of the double page Saxxy Awards page will feature last years’ winner of the best overall and their trip to Valve HQ and what they got up to using motion capture suits and how they’d be used in SFM.

Invasion: I wish to cover multiple topics under the Invasion update section of my booklet. This is a list of each topic I want to incorporate into my work:

• Cosmetics
• Weapon Reskins
• New maps
• Behind the scenes of the update

All of these topics will be split into two, coupling the Cosmetics side and Weapon Reskins together and the New maps and Behind the scenes info together.

TF2 Match Making: My last double page spread will be based on the upcoming news that TF2 will be getting matchmaking, much like how CS:GO has and all of the game files found in the games directory. I will also feature mock ups and fans reactions and what they think about the update and their predictions on how they think the update will go down.
